What is fdisk?

Fdisk is an application on a windows boot disk that is used to partition a hard drive. Partitioning means to split up the usable space on the hard drive into manageable sizes. Sometimes a hard disk is partitioned once to use the whole disk, other times it is partitioned multiple times to create multiple "drives".

Fdisk is available on Windows bootable floppy disks which can be downloaded here.
